Unveiling Our Jamaican Adventure: Room Tour, ATV & Horseback Riding, Bamboo Excursion, and Resort Review

A few exhilarating months ago, my sister and I embarked on a thrilling girls’ trip, setting our sights on the enchanting landscapes of Jamaica.

Day 1: Arrival at a Luxury Family-Friendly All-Inclusive Resort

Our journey kicked off with a Saturday morning flight, landing in Jamaica in the afternoon. Our first stop was a Luxury Family-Friendly All-Inclusive Resort, where we reveled in two unforgettable nights of Jamaican hospitality.

A passport is a must for international air travel

– a key detail for fellow globetrotters.

Fun Facts:

  • Montego Bay, with its vibrant allure, welcomes the most visitors in Jamaica.
  • Nestled between Ocho Rios and Negril, our chosen destination promised a perfect blend of tourist attractions.

Weather Note:

The weather in May 2022 offered delightful moments, with a sprinkle of rain during the mornings and afternoons.

Airport Adventure:

Navigating the vibrant Jamaican scene, we arranged our airport transfer via []. Our private car welcomed us, with a friendly driver who, in true Jamaican spirit, introduced us to local offerings. From enticing smokes to an invitation to a nightlife adventure, our arrival was nothing short of lively.

Day 2: Unveiling the Hilton Rose Hall Hotel

Our second day unfolded at the Hilton Rose Hall Hotel – an 18th-century sugar farm perched along the Caribbean Sea, just a mile from the historic Rose Hall Mansion and 13 km from Sangster International Airport.

Warm Welcome:

Upon arrival, attentive staff greeted us, swiftly handling our luggage and presenting us with a refreshing welcome beverage. The foyer, a spacious and tastefully decorated haven, set the tone for our luxurious stay.

Recreation and Indulgences:

The Hilton Rose Hall Hotel boasts a myriad of amenities, including kayaking, paddle boarding, waterslides, and more. The enticing offerings extend to non-motorized water sports, a pool, water park, spa, gym, and various dining options.

Day 1: Adventure Unleashed

Morning Exploration:
Our day unfolded with a delightful exploration of the resort. The day’s highlights included mouthwatering meals at the Jerk Hut, where I indulged in Jerk Wings, Salad, a Philly Steak Sub, and Fries.

Libations of Choice:

Sipping on a refreshing piña colada, reminiscent of my Puerto Rico trip in May 2021, added a tropical touch to the experience.

Leisure and Water Wonders:
After a stint of rain, my sister and I embraced the vibrant atmosphere by heading to the pool. The resort offered a plethora of water activities, including kayaking, paddle boarding, and boating right on the pristine beach.

Day 2: River Adventures and Rainy Delights

On our second day in Jamaica, Shay and I decided to turn our excursion dreams into reality. While we had a list of thrilling activities we wanted to experience, we intentionally held off on making reservations until we set foot on the vibrant island.

Martha Brae River Excursion:

Our adventure commenced at the Martha Brae River, where the soothing flow of the river promised a serene escape. The journey began under clear skies, but halfway through, the heavens decided to sprinkle a bit of Jamaican magic. Fortunately, the resort had thoughtfully provided us with umbrellas, turning an unexpected rain shower into a whimsical experience. The one-hour ride along the Martha Brae River was nothing short of enchanting, and as fate would have it, the rain ceased the moment we concluded our scenic journey. Talk about perfect timing!

Note:

Despite the rain, the day unfolded with unexpected charm, creating memories that blended adventure with the laid-back beauty of the Jamaican landscape.

Retail Therapy and Resort Dining:

Post-river escapade, we indulged in some retail therapy, exploring local shops and immersing ourselves in the vibrant Jamaican culture. Our shopping spree was followed by a delightful dinner at the resort, where I stuck to my favorites – wings and nachos. The resort’s culinary offerings never disappoint!

Shopping

Conveniently, there are many souvenirs available at the Whittier Village shopping mall across from the resort.

Next Stop: Adults-Only Bliss

As the night fell, we bid farewell to our initial haven and checked out, setting our sights on the next destination – an adults-only resort.

Day 3: Arriving in Adult-Only Paradise

Embarking on the next chapter of our Jamaican sojourn, we hopped into a taxi at our first resort, eagerly making our way to the allure of the second – the Adults-Only, all-inclusive paradise that is HOTEL MOBAY.

Welcome to Mahoe Bay:

Nestled along the picturesque Mahoe Bay, this beachside retreat in Montego Bay is a haven of sophistication. Boasting a private beach with mesmerizing views of the Sandals private islands, HOTEL MOBAY is conveniently located just outside the Blue Diamond Shopping Mall, a mere ten minutes from Sangster International Airport. Swim-up bars, pools, daily activities, a gym, a spa, non-motorized sports, themed performances, and live music await discerning travelers. And, for those seeking the rhythm of the night, indulge in nightlife events and weekly pool parties, including the famed Night Club Pacha.

Arrival Extravaganza:

Upon our arrival, the attentive staff welcomed us graciously, swiftly taking care of our baggage. The lobby exuded an inviting charm, embodying the warmth that defines Jamaican hospitality.

A note for the traveler’s pocket:

Cash is recommended for tipping.

Ocean View Upgrade:

Our journey took an exciting turn as we were handed a welcoming drink. Initially reserved with a garden view, my Bougie sister effortlessly secured an upgraded room with a captivating ocean view, elevating our stay to new heights.

First Impressions of the Resort Room:

Stepping into our space, we were greeted by a thoughtfully arranged room. The minibar beckoned with an extensive selection of libations, and the balcony unveiled a breathtaking view of the endless ocean.

Evening Unveiling:

As the day unfolded into night, Shay and I, despite our days filled with exhilarating excursions, managed to catch a glimpse of the resort’s live performances. Themed restaurants proved elusive in terms of reservations, leading us to frequent the delightful buffet hall.

Culinary Delight:

Before retiring to our rooms for the night, I savored a delectable dinner featuring succulent steak and flavorful pasta, a fitting end to another remarkable day in the Jamaican paradise of HOTEL MOBAY.

Day 4: Adventure Unleashed in Negril

Morning Prelude:
The morning sun greeted us as we were whisked away from the resort to the enchanting shores of Negril. Before embarking on our exhilarating excursion

our journey included an unexpected shopping tour,

a pit stop where my sister found charming additions for our Pandora bracelets from a charming gift store.

Journey to Negril:
The hour-long drive was an adventure in itself. The bumpy ride had a lulling effect, making me a tad sleepy, but our knowledgeable guide kept us engaged with intriguing tales about the island’s history and culture.

Arrival and Anticipation:
Upon arrival, we wasted no time and placed a food order at the bar, setting the stage for an evening filled with anticipation and adventure.

ATV Adventure

ATV Riding:

The first thrill of the day unfolded as I geared up for ATV riding – a solid 10/10 experience. My sister enjoyed it so much that she opted for a second round.

Horseback Riding Experience

Horseback Riding:

Next up was horseback riding, a delightful and whimsical experience that added an extra layer of fun to our day.

Ziplining Excursion:

As the sun began its descent, I embarked on a ziplining adventure.

Final Resort Relaxation:

On our last day at the all-inclusive resort, we took it easy, relishing the serene atmosphere by the hotel’s pool and along the sandy shores of Mahoe Bay. The resort surprised us with a lively foam party, a fitting farewell celebration.

Unexpected Connections:
During our stay, a chance encounter led us to two fellow travelers. A mistaken wave turned into an amusing introduction, and we spent some quality time getting to know our newfound friends. After all, memorable connections are an integral part of any Jamaican adventure.

Even though the restaurant was completely filled,

I managed to sample a much-needed steak and my favorite cuisine, cheese sticks, from two of the four restaurants.

Since I dined here just for the cheese sticks and am a picky eater who doesn’t enjoy buffets,

I’ll be honest and say that I didn’t particularly enjoy them. This is just my opinion.

Day 6: Farewell to Paradise

Morning Serenity:
As the sun painted the sky with hues of dawn, we savored a delightful breakfast in the lobby. An early start allowed us to witness the breathtaking sunrise from our balcony, a moment etched in the memories of our Jamaican adventure.

Departure Preparations:
With hearts heavy with the bittersweet emotion of departure, we gathered our belongings, loaded up the car, and set course for the airport.

Meals and beverages were provided.

Before we boarded our trip home, I ordered a pinta colada and fruit salad with chicken wraps.

Time to Spare:
Despite our airport pick-up scheduled for 11:30 a.m. and the airport being a mere 10 minutes away, our flight wasn’t until 3 p.m. To make the most of our time, we decided to indulge in the luxurious experience of Club Mobay. Upon arrival at the airport, we booked our spot in the VIP airport lounge, where we could relax, unwind, and enjoy a delectable meal, turning our waiting time into a VIP experience.

As we bid farewell to the tropical haven of Jamaica, we reflected on the countless moments of joy, adventure, and connection that defined our journey.

Until the next adventure awaits, Jamaica, you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
